About
the Conference |
While 2005 will
represent the 50th
anniversary of the publication of George Kelly’s famous work The
Psychology
of Personal Constructs, the first use of the term personal
construct
theory occurred in two unpublished doctoral dissertations fifty
years ago
this year. It is thus an appropriate time to review the usefulness of
this
approach. The conference will offer a broad canvas to those from all
walks of
life who use PCP in their practice, research and theorizing. In recent
years
Australian researchers in this field have been responsible for some
major
developments in theory and practice and this will be reflected in the
presentations at this conference. In addition Professor David Winter,
head of
the clinical psychology program at the University of Hertfordshire,
will give a
keynote address.
The conference begins on Thursday, 8 July, with registration between
9.30 and 11.30. It will end after lunch at 1.30 pm on Saturday, 10 July.
